Road Trafficdangerous drivingreasons for decision

Although driving at excessive speed is not, of itself, sufficient to constitute dangerous driving, it may do so where, taking into account the other circumstances of the case, it was such as to amount to dangerous driving in accordance with the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956, art. 14B (Howdle v. O'Connor, [1998] S.L.T. 94, followed). Driving well in excess of the speed limit in an area in which there are road junctions from which cars might be expected to turn on to the road or where people might be expected to cross will constitute dangerous driving.
